Powell’s City of Books, the biggest independent bookshop in the world, was Geeta’s first trip.
She spent hours perusing the maze-like aisles and ogling the enormous collection of books.

In the afternoon, Geeta visited the International Rose Test Garden, home to over 10,000 roses of all colors and varieties. She strolled through the gardens, taking in the sweet fragrance of the flowers.
In the evening, Geeta had dinner at one of Portland’s many acclaimed restaurants. She enjoyed a delicious meal made with fresh, local ingredients.
Over the next few days, Geeta explored more of Portland’s unique offerings. She visited the Portland Japanese Garden, the Lan Su Chinese Garden, and the Hoyt Arboretum. She also took a walk across the Portland Farmers Market and visited the Saturday Market.
Geeta was particularly impressed by Portland’s culinary scene. She tried everything from trendy restaurants to food carts to hole-in-the-wall eateries. She even took a cooking class to learn how to make some of her favorite Portland dishes.
Geeta also enjoyed Portland’s literary culture. She visited the Portland Book Festival, the Powell’s City of Books Lit Crawl, and the Multnomah County Library. She also met with several local authors and poets.
