Gracia had a natural affinity for the South. She cherished the welcoming atmosphere, the extensive history, and the delectable cuisine. She so knew she had to go when she had the chance to visit Savannah, Georgia.
Savannah is a city renowned for its southern hospitality, stunning architecture, and streets lined with live oaks. It was a bright spring day when Gracia arrived in Savannah. She was smitten by the aura of the city right away.
Her first stop was Forsyth Park, a beautiful park in the heart of the city. She wandered through the park, admiring the fountain and the Spanish moss-draped oak trees. She also took a walk through the park’s rose garden.
After lunch, Gracia visited the Bonaventure Cemetery, one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the world. She walked through the cemetery, admiring the ornate tombstones and sculptures. She also visited the grave of Johnny Mercer, the songwriter who wrote “Moon River” and other famous songs.
In the evening, Gracia had dinner at Husk, a restaurant that serves modern southern cuisine. She enjoyed a delicious meal of fried chicken, collard greens, and mac and cheese. She also washed it all down with a glass of sweet tea.
The next day, Gracia visited the Telfair Museums, a complex of three museums that house a collection of American and European art. She saw a variety of art, including paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts. She also attended a lecture on the history of art in Savannah.
After lunch, Gracia visited the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, a beautiful cathedral that is known for its Gothic Revival architecture. She took a tour of the cathedral and admired its stained glass windows and its ornate altar.
In the evening, Gracia had dinner at The Olde Pink House, a restaurant that is known for its southern cuisine and its elegant atmosphere. She enjoyed a delicious meal of shrimp and grits and peach cobbler. She also washed it all down with a glass of Southern sweet tea.
On her last day in Savannah, Gracia visited the Tybee Island Light Station & Museum. She climbed to the top of the lighthouse and enjoyed the stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Tybee Island Lighthouse Station. She also visited the museum and learned about the history of the lighthouse.
Gracia had a wonderful time in Savannah. She loved the city’s southern charm, its beautiful architecture, and its delicious food. She left Savannah feeling refreshed and inspired.
